The African Action Congress has denied claims that Mr Eyitayo Jegede, the Peoples Democratic Party’s nominee, had endorsed him for the governorship election in Ondo State on Saturday.
Reports were identified by the party as false.
The AAC said the party would never be part of any “unholy alliance” for the election in a statement by its National Chairman, Mr Omoyele Sowore.
” We want to make it categorically clear and loud that we are not and will never be part of an alliance or endorsement as a revolutionary group whose sole goal and purpose is to continue arming poverty and holding Nigerians in slavery in the 21st Century.
We totally separate AAC from this unholy alliance and also want to use this opportunity to appeal to all our beloved party members and supporters, including the general public, to ignore the information being transmitted in the media room.
“The AAC is a group of Nigerians (poor and working people) who are oppressed and will continue to struggle and stand for the masses.”
