Police Inspector-General Mohammed Adamu has made an official withdrawal of the police escorts attached to Emeka Okonkwo aka E-Money, the Chairman of Five Star Group.
Confirmingthis to NR, the Lagos state command spokesman says an order has come from the police office of the Inspector General for the immediate withdrawal of the police escorts attached to E-Money.
The police spokesman said he would not be able to comment about what may have led to such a decision but can authoritatively confirm that the police escorts were removed.
There are rumors that E-Money may have offended the police authority over its perceived misuse of the right of police escorts. A police source said he was suspected by the authorities of using his police escorts as if they were his domestic servants with some of them posing in photographs as they opened for him the doors of his vehicles, kept his umbrella and other in official duties.
Amatching order has also been issued to the Lagos State Police Command to investigate its sources of income, E-Money has yet to comment on that growth.
